It’s that time of year again. The days are gradually getting shorter and summer is slowly fading into fall. It’s time to send the kids back to school.
For most people this means stockpiling supplies, buying a few new pieces of clothing, and otherwise preparing for the upcoming year.
The beginning of the school year may present the perfect opportunity to talk to your kids about personal hygiene and the importance of using high quality, natural products rather than chemical laden sprays, lotions, and gels. Recently, we’ve been reminded of a story shared by our friend Sara. For the last year she has been at odds with her fifteen year old son over commercial colognes. Sara is very sensitive to the chemical properties of some popular body sprays and suffers severe headaches due to the (over)use of such products by her son. She shared a story of having to drive home countless times with the windows wide open in the middle of the brutal Wisconsin winter just to clear the air and not be overwhelmed by the stench of popular teenage marketing (that’s a very kind way to put it).
Thankfully, American Provenance received some very nice press shortly after we launched. Sara noticed one of the articles describing our business, products, and philosophies and reached out to us. We were more than happy to send her some samples in the hope of steering her son in a different direction.
When Sara told her son about our little company, he rolled his eyes and shared his annoyance with yet another attempt to convince him of the benefits of natural products (yes, Sara is an outstanding mother). She still isn’t sure if it was the scents, the names, or the artwork, buy her son actually embraced our natural colognes!
Long story, short, Sara’s son is happy with our products, she doesn’t have to suffer through the pain of regular headaches, and the whole family can gather round the table every night!
We can’t think of anything much better than that.
